Our 1 year wedding anniversary

April 20, 2015

I wasn’t sure how much I was ever going to share about my personal life on here but today marks my one year wedding anniversary to the most amazing person I know and my best friend. (It is also the day of my exam!)

I’ll keep this short by just sharing a few of my favourite pictures from the big day.

And telling you I have serious post wedding day blues. I had the most incredible time planning my wedding, not one ounce of stress. Partly because I’m a control freak so just did the whole thing myself!

One day I might share a little bit more of my wedding story and our incredible honeymoon.

But for now I just wanted to share this cool little idea I was inspired by Pinterest to create for our first year anniversary present of paper. I’ve always wanted to do our anniversary presents like this, long before Gone Girl made it creepy!

I felt the paper gift is supposed to be something modest and about cementing your time together so that honeymoon phase can continue so I came up with 12 dates to spread throughout the year. On the first of each month we will pick one at random and schedule a date that month with one rule, no phones allowed.

The dates are just little things from going for an evening stroll and watching a movie in to things I’ve been wanting us to do for a while like ice skating and baking something together.

We also have a nice weekend away planned for after my exams and I’ll share more when we are back.

Here’s to many more years.

Awww I love the date a month idea – I may have to steal this. It’s so easy to get swept along living day to day and not really making time together special. That’s actually one of the things I quite like about blogging – it’s made me more keen to go on day trips and seek out new places and experiences together but even still laziness can take over. A very happy anniversary to you – the top photo is stunning – did you really get married in Scotland as it looks like you could be on a sunny Caribbean island in that pic :) Also good luck with your exam today!

Haha definitely steal it! I stole it from Pinterest!
I know, that’s what I thought the nice thing about it would be is just to make sure we schedule some time in advance and it might stick as a habit past the year!
Thank you, I know, we couldn’t believe the weather either! I can’t lie it was freezing but you don’t see that in the pictures at least!
